The Return to School

I am always sad when the summer comes to an end and my boys have to head back to school! Getting into a routine again is nice, but I miss them!

In any event, since it is that time of year again, I thought it would make sense to pull together my school-related posts and have them all in one place for you. Right now there are posts related to:

  • declarative language/co-regulation and your child’s 504 and/or IEP

  • some examples of how one teacher is using declarative language in her classroom (Hi Ms. C!)

and

  • the importance of wait time in the classroom, along with tips to help it happen!

I plan to add more to this section over the next year because I know it is such an important topic.

I hope everyone enjoys this last official weekend of summer (in the US anyway!) and I’ll see you all back here next Sunday with something new: a guest post from two fabulous SLP’s on picky eating & declarative language!

Would you like to reframe the term “non-preferred tasks” in a way that is helpful and more positive?

Join one of our Fall Declarative Language Workshops where we can provide you individual coaching on how to move away from this term and towards problem solving.

You can also read more on this topic here!
