Co-Regulation and Adjusting Complexity

In anticipation of my upcoming book - Co-Regulation Handbook – I wanted to share one of my articles from 2014. I discuss the power of keeping things simple, while also thinking through how to add challenges as kids are ready. The idea of scaling back or adding more – to keep things at the “just right” level of challenge for kids - is called 𝑎𝑑𝑗𝑢𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑒𝑥𝑖𝑡𝑦. In Co-Regulation Handbook, I have dedicated a complete chapter to this important topic and cannot wait to share it with you!

In the meantime, please share this article with others to keep spreading our important message: With declarative language and co-regulation as our guides, we can make a big difference in creating positive learning environments for all.

Have a great week!
